What is rake? Poker rooms provide a service and for this they need to be compensated just like any other business. They make their money by taking a small percentage of the pot. This is known as the rake and is generally 5% capped at around $3, however every poker room is a bit different. Other factors also affect the rake such as table stakes and whether or not a flop happens in the hand.
How does rakeback work? After signing up with one of our poker rooms, you will earn back a percentage of the rake that you have paid. This cash back or rakeback ranges from 25% up to 60%, depending on the poker room. See our Rakeback Calculator on our homepage for an estimate of how much we could be paying you each month! Some sites pay your rakeback directly into your player account. Other sites do not have this option, so TITN will transfer your rakeback via peer-to-peer transfer each month.
How can ThisIsTheNuts pay rakeback? We can pay rakeback to you because we receive a percentage of the revenue that you generate for poker rooms by doing what you love--playing poker! When a player signs up at a poker room via our links, we receive a commission for sending that player to the poker site. We are paid this commission for as long as the player plays on that site. We then give the majority of that commission to you, the player.
Am I limited to the number of rooms that I sign-up for through your site? You are free to sign up with as many poker rooms as you wish. You will not get penalized and you can take full advantage of the various rakeback offers on ThisIsTheNuts.com
How do I know how much rake I have generated? There are two ways to see how much rake you have generated: one is right here on ThisIsTheNuts.com. Poker sites provide us with this information and we post it in your “MyTITN” section. The other way you can see how much rake you have generated is in your poker software player’s account. Many sites now put that information in the “Cashier” or “My Account” section.
When and how do I get my rakeback paid? The answer to this question varies, depending on the site you are playing on. For the following sites, you can cash out your rakeback at anytime in your "MyTITN" area: UltimateBet Absolute Poker Bodog The anytime cashouts also apply to any and all commissions earned via our Referral Program. The rakeback stats are updated daily, so your balance will reflect your daily poker play on those sites. You are able to cash out those earnings via a poker room transfer on UltimateBet, Absolute Poker, Full Tilt, or Cake Poker. The minimum cashout is $50. Amounts less than $50 will be carried forward to the next month until you have accumulated the minimum $50 to cash out. For Full Tilt Poker rakeback, your earnings are automatically paid to your Full Tilt account on a weekly basis. Each Friday, you will be paid for a week's worth of play up to the previous Monday. For instance, on Friday, September 19, you will be paid for all play between Tuesday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 15. This is a new payment method for Full Tilt as of September of 2008. For all other sites, rakeback payments are made directly on the corresponding poker site once per month.
What if I already have an account at a particular poker room? In many cases, if you have an existing poker room account you may not receive rakeback. However, ThisIsTheNuts will try to help you relink your poker account in order to receive rakeback. If you are interested in getting your account converted please send an email to support@thisisthenuts.com. Be sure to write "Please help me retag my account" in the subject line along with a note detailing which poker site(s) and the screen name(s) you would like relinked. We will contact the sites on your behalf and see what we can do. We normally have an answer for you within 1-4 business days.
Do signup bonuses and reload bonuses affect the rakeback I receive? This depends on the poker site. Some sites deduct a percentage of bonuses from rakeback and some do not. Please be sure see the full details of each poker sites. Generally, if a site does deduct bonuses, they reduces your rakeback by the $ AMOUNT OF THE BONUS times your rakeback %.
Do I earn rakeback on Sit N Go's and Multi-Table Tournaments? Again, this depends on the poker site, some sites yes and some sites no. Please be sure see the full details of each poker site.
Does it matter which type of game I play at each poker room? You will receive rakeback on all poker game styles where you meet the table raked hand requirements as per the poker room.
What if I refer another player to you and they signup under you? There are two options to get paid for the players you refer to TITN. Option one, we will pay you between 2.5% and 5% of that player's monthly rake for life! This percentage varies, depending on the total amount of rake all of your players combine to generate each month. Option two, we will pay you a one-time $50 cash bonus when that players has raked $500 combined on our sites. Simply create a referral code and choose which commission type you want your player to use when they set-up their TITN account. More information about our Referral Program can be found here.
If I have to reinstall a poker site’s application, will this affect the tracking of my rakeback? No. Rakeback tracking is done by using your poker room account name. It will not affect your rakeback tracking in any way.
Can I play at a different computer and still get tracked for rakeback? Yes, you can play from any computer anywhere in the world and you will still be tracked for rakeback. Tracking is done through your account name on the poker site.
What is a skin site? A skin site is a poker site that shares the same application and player base as other poker sites on a single network. For example InterPoker, Sun Poker, and Betsafe are all a part of the Cryptologic network, meaning that when you are playing on one of these skins, your opponents could be playing on the same skin or any other skin on the Cryptologic Network. From a playing experience, the only difference you will see is the brand. However, each skin site can offer its own bonuses, so it does not hurt to signup for more than one skin on the same network.
